    Shows the 7-day price change for each future pick-up date. The visualisation of this data quickly highlights the pockets (dates) of significant price changes in the market, and can be overlaid with other data points such as flight demand and bookings.

  • Forward Market Pricing (FMP)
    Provides visualisation of daily prices of each selected brand for the next 12 months to help understand market pricing and positioning. FMP data can be user-defined by brand(s), location(s), vehicle category(s), pick-up date range and length of rental(s).
  • Historical Market Pricing (HMP)
    Provides visualisation of historical daily price build for a select few, pre-defined future pick-up dates to help understand competitor price behaviour. HMP data can be user-defined by brand(s), location(s), vehicle category(s), pick-up date range and length of rental(s).

Insider tips

  • The South Island Christmas/New Year market is very active as demand for domestic travel to Christchurch and Queenstown remains steady. Prices for SUVs in Queenstown remain strong and peak during New Year, in line with historical seasonality.
    • INSIDER TIP: Continually review your own pricing strategies, ensuring you position your brand correctly in the market. Focus on vehicle-specific strategies to maximise revenue from high-demand vehicles, such as SUVs and other specialist vehicles. As is the focus in Australia, do not negatively impact your brand by being perceived as price gouging, strike the correct balance between demand and market pricing
  • Be aware of regional travel restrictions, monitor developments closely and use all your data to understand demand as restrictions ease.
    • INSIDER TIP: Ensure your pricing is positioned appropriately in the outer months, especially during the Christmas/New Year period, and into late January 2022. As we saw in 2020, pent up domestic travel demand bounces back strongly once restrictions ease, especially in the months leading up to long weekends and holiday periods
